The Role
The objective of the role of Senior Auditor is to help deliver high quality audits and build capability to assist the organisation achieve its objectives through the promotion of effective internal controls at a reasonable cost
Responsibilities
- Provide input to the annual audit plan to ensure high risk areas are identified
- Lead/perform end-to-end audits, project reviews and special ad hoc reviews in accordance with Suncorp Audit Methodology and professional internal auditing standards within agreed budget and timeframe, including:
- Keep the Audit Manager/EAM informed regarding the status of audits in progress
- Review/develop detailed audit scope, program of work, audit tests, audit budget and resource requirements for acceptance by Audit Manager/EAM
- Assign audit work to and direct the activities of audit team members
- Maintain appropriate and effective working relationships with business management and identify and provide advice to business clients on appropriate internal controls in relation to new and changed products, services, processes and projects within the portfolio
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Internal Audit function through teamwork, innovation, effective management of services and resources, and input into departmental initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree Qualification in Accounting, Finance, IT or a related field required
- Relevant qualifications from professional bodies such as IIA, ICAA, ISACA, AIBF or CPA desirable
- Post graduate qualifications (MBA, Masters in Finance/Commerce, SA Fin) (desirable)
- Certification in project management frameworks of PMBOK, PRINCE2 or AGILE (desirable)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Financial Services, Internal Auditing and/or External Audit
