Fixed term opportunity to join our busy Payroll Team at Queensland Rail. 3 month fixed term role with possible extension.

Responsibilities include: 

• Administer the payment of wages, salaries and travelling expenses, the payroll processing of new starts, transfers, salary reviews and progressions and the processing of cessations for employees as allocated.
• Provide informed advice to employees on employee entitlements in accordance with Finance and HR Policies and Certified Agreements.
• Maintain accurate records on Queensland Rail's payroll system and ensure the integrity of the database.
• Ensure compliance with payroll quality procedures in all aspects, including the maintenance of accurate records.
• Maintain accurate administrative records in accordance with audit requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested by the relevant Team Leader Payroll particularly in relation to the checking of pay, payroll anomaly reports and timesheet entry.

This role would be suited to a quick learner who has a natural flair with numbers coupled with strong communication skills and experience using MS Excel.  In addition to been a multi-tasker we are also looking for:

• Substantial level of skill in the use and application of SAP or similar payroll system.
• Substantial level of skill in the accurate application of payroll quality procedures and practices and the provision of customer service.
• Sound organisational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Sound level of skill in functioning effectively in a team environment.

Salary range: $65,964 - $73,633 per annum (experience dependent) + super.
