Our client is currently embarking on a journey that will lead them to become one of the biggest provider of shared services within their respective industry. Seeking a ‘customer service minded’ payroll person to complement their exisiting finance function, you will take on a varied work load that will expose you to all areas of the group as they grow throughout 2018/19. Working within a supportive and developmental environment, they would like a professional operator (minimum 1 year experience) to seamlessly fit into their flexible work culture that's currently being embraced by all.

Working within a team of 15 and reporting to a supportive National Payroll Manager, you will have the opportunity to work along side like minded individuals who like to work hard and be rewarded with flexibility and personal development. Also they like to train all new employees with the efficient use of SAP so if you haven't used it before you will learn it from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End to end processing of company payrolls (weekly, fortnightly)
  • Management of payroll timesheets and leave planning system
  • Maintaining leave, sickness and overtime reports
  • Interpreting awards/agreements and contracts in relation to overtime and shift
  • Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations
  • Updating and maintaining payroll records
  • Calculation and processing of termination payments
  • Assist senior manager with implementation of best practice and new collaboration tools
  • Processing increases and calculation of back pays
  • Assisting with reconciliation and group tax
  • Project management and drive process improvement initiatives

Key Requirements:

  • 1-3 years minimum demonstrated payroll processing experience
  • Proven engagement skills and SAP is an advantage
  • Numerical ability and data entry skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and processes
  • Ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation
