Recognised as one of the “employers of choice” in the Upper Hunter Valley, this leading firm have continued to go from strength to strength due to the way they look after their staff.  Low staff turnover means that rarely do they go into the employment market to attract new employees.
 
The firm are now ready to expand and need to attract an experienced Accountant or Senior Accountant to work closely with the existing Partnership.  Offering an idyllic country lifestyle along with all of the necessary amenities you would expect in big cities, relocating to this attractive town will provide the whole family with immense satisfaction and enjoyment.
 
Having identified the importance of investing in and supporting their “people”, this firm feel it is important to provide ongoing training and development.  What this means to you is simple.  If you are keen to continue your development and broaden your experiences, you will be provided with every opportunity to achieve this.   With a realistic workload placed upon you, you will be provided with excellent “on the job” mentoring by the Partnership and be continually encouraged to participate in all internal and external training workshops.
 
Along with the requirements of a normal Business Services role, you will also be encouraged to assist in the development of the firm’s junior accountants.  This will provide you with the opportunity to display your “leadership” skills. As a guide to your day to day responsibilities, you may be challenged with the following:
 

• Preparing monthly management reports measuring performance against budgets and KPIs
• Developing three way cashflow models
• Preparing interim financial accounts and providing tax planning proposals
• Preparing financial statements and reconciliations, income returns and Business Activity Statements
• Conducting meetings with clients to discuss results, objectives and future goals
• Review work completed by junior staff

 
This position may be ideal for someone looking to progress their career without the pressures of a “big city firm” or alternatively you may be looking for a complete “bush change” where you can actually achieve a true work/life balance.
 
Possessing a minimum of four years experience in public practice within Australia, you will have already completed your degree and now be on to completing your CA or CPA.  If you have already achieved this, even better.
 
In addition, you will be seeking to work with a team of customer focussed accounting professionals who actively share experiences and are always willing to “lend a hand” when required.
 
Similar to most roles in public practice, in this position your remuneration is based on your ability and productivity.  What this means is simple, if you are exceeding expectations you can expect to be rewarded for your efforts.  As a guide, a salary in the range of $65,000 to $90,000 will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
