We are hiring a permanent part time Payroll person to work in our dynamic , fast paced fashion business .Summary of Duties from the successful candidate
Compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records by performing the following duties.
Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, deductions, leave, allowances, taxes, superannuation, insurance, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records.
Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records on a weekly and monthly cycle.
Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
Ensures employees' personnel files are created, maintained, filed and secured appropriately.
Enters new employees into the payroll system and then participates in their overall induction into the company, including the organising of business cards and personal stationary where required.
Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments or reimbursements for each employee to update master payroll records.
Records data concerning changes in job function or transfer of employees between departments.
Deals with employee enquiries around their pay and conditions.
Prepares periodic group certificates and reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
Keeps records of paid and unpaid leave and non-taxable wages.
Researches relevant Awards and Legislations to ensure correct payments of employees.

Education and/or Experience
A certificate from college or technical school; or three year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, profit, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
A certificate from college or technical school; or three year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
