Accountant (Home Builder - South Eastern Suburbs)

The Company:
  
My client is a boutique custom residential builder providing clients with an exciting array of custom designed homes. This organisation has grown rapidly in recent times and has a reputation for producing compelling designs and delivering high-end, premium products.
  
Due to consistent growth this organisation is now looking for an experienced accountant to join their team and to take ownership of day-to-day financial management of this organisation.
  
This role will suit a candidate that enjoys hands-on responsibilities and is comfortable in working in a stand-alone capacity and reporting into the Director level.
  
You will be responsible for:

• Managing and reporting financial information and working closely with external accountants
• Management of accounts payable and receivable
• Preparation of GST, BAS & FBT in a timely and accurate manner
• Timely bank and debtors reconciliations
• Preparation of finance/accounting/payroll reports
• Establish effective stakeholder relationships, including suppliers and sub-contractor relationship management
• High accuracy and compliance in all payroll processing and storage of finance/accounting documentation

Skills & Requirements: 

• 5 + years accounting experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, particularly in relation to GST, FBT, Income and Payroll Tax
• Demonstrated intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel including spreadsheet creation and the use of formulas and functions
• Ability to use initiative, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
