Fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Financial Accountant to join an ASX listed corporation located in Macquarie Park. This is a role seeking an experienced Accountant with project-based WIP accounting experience to oversee major customer contracts across NSW and VIC.

Our client is an ASX-listed giant specialising in providing manufacturing services for businesses. Due to business growth and a significant increase in customer contracts across each state, they are actively seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join the team in this newly created position.
Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Maintain the accurate recording of percentage completion for projects and undertake cost and revenue forecasting and budgeting
- Allocate and correct expenses and revenue based on project WIP and ensure accurate flow through to monthly reports
- Ensure timesheets are correctly accounted for to allocate labour costs against projects
- Assist Project Managers with understanding percentage completion allocations, revenue recognition, Fee Splits, Billing Schedules and Forecasting.
- Assist stakeholders in resources planning and analysis on the variance between budget and actuals
- Review project financials on monthly basis to ensure it has been managed properly
- Maintain and ensure compliance with internal and external financial policies and procedures
- Continual review in regard to process efficiency improvements and engagement of process change
- Build key relationships with project leaders and ensure timely and accurate communication and follow up
Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Project based WIP accounting experience, essential
- Experience in cost, revenue allocation based on project progression
- Strong communication skills and business partnering abilities in influencing and working with engineers and project leaders
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and full-function financial accounting
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Full CA/CPA qualification
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
