About the role
We are seeking a graduate economist for our BDO EconSearch Team with knowledge and understanding of economics issues, particularly in the fields of regional and resource economics. The position will involve data collection and analysis, developing solutions to resource economic problems, spreadsheet-based modelling and report drafting. The position can be on a full-time or part-time basis (0.6 FTE as a minimum).
Who is BDO EconSearch?
EconSearch was established in 1995 to provide economic research and consulting services. The firm provides independent economic analysis and policy advice to firms, industry associations, research & development corporations, regional development boards, government agencies and other organisations.
In July 2017 EconSearch became a Division of BDO Advisory. This integration broadens our service offering to the national market, enhances our local economic expertise, and enables us to offer a greater range of products to our clients.
We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate economist to join our growing team. The position is permanent, part-time or full-time and is based in Adelaide CBD.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual with exceptional team work and leadership skills, who is able to influence both staff and clients alike. The ideal candidate will have:
- University degree, or other relevant qualification in economics
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
- Problem solving and creative skills
- Well-developed oral communication skills with the ability and experience in liaising with clients and/or industry participants
- Willingness to travel to regional areas for data collection
- Experience with spreadsheet-based modelling
- Demonstrated report writing skills
- The ability to work both independently and as an effective team member, demonstrating personal organisational skills.
