About the role

We are seeking an experienced, professional Head of Finance to oversee and manage all of our financial management accounting, project and company financial activities, processes and risks. The ideal candidate will also possess strong commercial, contractual and risk management skills such that the role would also involve a significant degree of high level enterprise wide risk management plus commercial and strategic advice.

The Head of Finance will:

• Analyse the financial performance of all projects and harmonise accounting, project estimating, project budget management and back costing aspects
• Assess financial performance across the business to devise and refine key deliverables and KPIs to meet financial objectives
• Be responsible for annual budgets, reforecasting, management accounting and WIP, companywide cash flow forecasting and working with Project Managers to develop project specific cashflow forecasting and management
• Ensure company compliance with state and federal legislation with respect of payroll, taxation and business activity lodgement and remittance requirements
• Partner with the company Directors to prepare monthly management accounts and analysis for the Board
• Manage our accounts administration team and assist in the production of timely monthly accounts
• Work closely with the Directors and our key corporate advisers on capital strategy, banking / finance structures and negotiations of project and supply chain financial matters.

About you

• Proven experience operating in a broad and diverse role in a similar business as a finance leader, driving a business through significant growth whilst contributing to the concomitant operational, procedural and technological transformations relating to financial management
• Be a qualified CA / CPA / ACCA with an understanding of current Construction specific accounting standards
• Possess a deep understanding of project based businesses
• Be streetwise, savvy, pragmatic and practical with a holistic approach to managing commercial and financial risk
• Strong skills in business systems especially MYOB and MS Excel
• Ready to work smart, productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Great communicator and positive team player
• Ability to provide a solution orientated approach to complex problems
• Demonstrated experience in successful performance in a similar role
• Passionate interest in renewable energy.
