NSW Irrigators’ Council is the peak irrigation sector body representing the interests of over 12,000 water access licence holders across NSW. Its 26 Member organisations include commodity groups in the rice, cotton, dairy and horticulture sectors, State and valley-based farmer and irrigator organisations, and irrigation corporations.
This is a role for an experienced executive manager with excellent advocacy, communication, and people management skills, who will lead a small staff of skilled personnel in a challenging and fast paced policy environment. The CEO runs the Council’s business and is the principal advocate for the irrigation sector in NSW.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A background in advocacy and government relations.
- Experience in policy, strategy and business management.
- Excellence in modern communication and media skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to positively influence senior decision makers.
- A working knowledge of water policy and the related agricultural policy environment.
- Empathy with rural stakeholders.
The CEO reports to an elected Board and works closely with the Chairman on a day to day basis.
This is a challenging and rewarding role based in the Sydney CBD, but takes the CEO to every corner of the State. An attractive remuneration package is offered for this leading role in Australian agriculture.
