Building and Asset Services (BAS) is a business unit of the Department of Housing and Public Works dedicated to managing Government’s risk for building and asset management through advanced procurement, project and program arrangements, including contract management. BAS provides a range of services including disaster and emergency response, asbestos management, statutory and service maintenance, asset and facility management, property services and capital planning and delivery.
As General Manager, BAS you will ensure BAS’ role as Government’s first choice in procurement and contract management for building works and construction and the delivery of high quality outcomes under the Government’s building asset management programs.
OnTalent is seeking candidates for this exciting General Manager opportunity and looking for an exceptional leader who has management experience in a large, complex organisation preferably in the government sector.
You will provide strategic leadership and management to ensure all resources are optimally deployed in meeting BAS’ core business deliverables as aligned to client requirements while ensuring commercial viability. Also to provide high level strategic leadership across the public sector in the management of its property portfolio and capital investment program.
To be successful you will have a strong background in strategy and policy implementation, service delivery, costing and commercial pricing strategies. A proven track record as an agent of change in challenging environments, while fostering a confident and capable workforce. Paramount is your sound business acumen and commercial understanding, strategic operations planning and management and a strong knowledge of building infrastructure. A focus on quality client delivery and relationship management is essential.
