Broadspectrum is seeking an experienced Operating Agent to work on our Aviation and Maritime Refuelling operations nationwide. The ideal candidate will come from a strong military background, and will be able to advise on the operational and technical requirements of our Defence Base Services contract.

The Role:
The National Operating Agent will provide a single point of contact for all Aviation and Maritime fuels between E&IG and Broadspectrum and provide input into any Defence Hazard Risk Assessments (HRA), HAZOPS, Fuel Quality Audits or DFI upgrades.

The role will involve all management reporting as directed by the ARRFF National Technical Capability Manager and will ensure that a responsive and compliant aircraft and maritime refuelling services capability is delivered to the customer.

Key areas include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that all relevant administrative duties associated with Aircraft and Maritime Refuelling operations are performed.
  • To ensure safe, effective operational readiness of the Aviation and Maritime Refuelling operations in accordance with the Defence Base Services contract.
  • Promote Broadspectrum philosophies by striving for best practice through continuous improvements.
  • Assist with the training and development needs of the Aircraft and Maritime Refuelling services in accordance with Defence mandated requirements and the Broadspectrum Quality system.
  • Advise on rosters and staffing in accordance with the applicable Certified Agreements and operational requirements of the company.
  • Advise on DFI daily routines, equipment servicing, periodical maintenance and general upkeep of the DFI facilities.
  • Assist in ensuring that Aircraft and Maritime Refuelling staff realise their potential through upskilling and qualifications maintenance.
  • Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Valid Australian C class Drivers Licence (HR preferred)
  • Proven ability to liaise and foster strong relationships with clients
  • Must have managed a large diverse workforce in multiple locations for at least 5 years.
  • Demonstrated administrative attributes across a multi-discipline forum.
  • A strong focus on team and individual mentoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven decision-making abilities combined with a highly developed level of innovative thinking
  • High level of professional integrity

Highly Desirable:

  • A working knowledge of Defence operations.
  • A demonstrated history of having worked in the fuels industry.
  • Hold or be working toward holding the Diploma of Business Management
  • Experience as an operational Fuel Facility Manager
  • Certificate of Training – Fuel Quality Control course (Defence)
  • Certificate of Training - Defence Fuel Installation Operator qualification (DF-A/) (Defence)
  • Certificate of Training - Joint Fuels information Management System Bulk (JFIMS) DFI Installation Managers Course (Defence)
  • Statement of attainment – Issue Work permits (PTW) and conduct risk control measures.

 

In order to be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen, be able to complete a full medical alone with an Australian police check in order to be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance
