About the role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager is a mission-focussed and process minded leader with experience leading a high performing team and culture.
In this newly created role you will have the opportunity to design an environment that enables the smooth and effective functioning of the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives. Responsible for managing all operational functions the focus of the role is to integrate and embed continuous improvement ensuring the organisation has a sustainable platform to continue growing
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all internal operations and provide all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence
- Maintain a working environment conducive to the attraction and retention of staff
- Continue to grow and retain our members
- Maintain the high standard of our business support services
- Source new viable business opportunities and relationships that will provide additional revenue
- Participate in long-term strategic planning and help develop the operating strategy
- Work with the business advisory team to provide exceptional client outcomes
- Management of all aspects of our Government contracts
- Manage and maintain our relationships with our key stakeholders
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes and qualitfications:
- 5+ years experience working at a similar level
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with shared accountability for whole of business success
- Proven track record of exceeding goals and bottom line orientation
- Experience and understanding of the start-up and small business environment
- Evidence of the ability to consistently make good decision through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement
- Experience in balancing the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget
- Demonstrated ability in relationship building, influencing and stakeholder management
- Ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends and incorporate them into the organisational plan
- Engaging, energetic and enthusiastic
- Ability to provide leadership and promote a strong and positive team culture
