About the role

The Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and co-ordination of the cleaning and patient support staff.

 The role involves maintaining staff rosters, staff management, staff recruitment and orientation, stock control, as well as co-coordinating and conducting cleaning audits

 

The Support Services Supervisor will also support and work collaboratively with the Support Services Team and Support Services Manager, and the Maroondah Hospital clinical teams in the provision of cleaning and PSA responsibilities.

 

About you 

Do you have the ability to  provide direction for Eastern Health Support Services in alignment with the EH strategic plan and the ability to exemplify leadership reflective of the mission and values of Eastern Health

To be successful in this role you should possess:

Essential

• Significant experience and demonstrated competence in the management of staff in the Health Industry, including human resources management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate effective organisational change and lead service development initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and relate effectively to all persons/levels within the organisation and associated organisations.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in maintaining staff rosters - 150+ + staff
• Proven commitment to the provision of high quality, client focussed support services.
• Knowledge and experience in managing staff and dealing with multidisciplinary teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cleaning standards and infection control processes, particularly in the Health Industry.
• Well defined report/document writing skills
• Knowledge of Industrial relations
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Customer service focus
• Understanding of financial management and budgeting
• Ability to deal with union representatives to achieve positive outcomes.
• Conflict/grievance management experience
