They work closely with sales managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter expert to demonstrate how a proposed solution meets and exceeds customer requirements.
The Security Sales Engineer is an integral part of the sales organisation and assists the sales team with pre-sales technical knowledge and presentations.
They work closely with sales managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter expert to demonstrate how a proposed solution meets and exceeds customer requirements.
The responsibilities:
- Proposal Development for Firewall Systems, Web filtering Solutions , SIEM solutions, IDS, Compliance and Security Management Systems, Vulnerability Assessment Technologies, PKI, Network Access Control, Security Analytics, DDOS, Advanced Malware Protection, Packet Capture
- Provide support to the sales, bid and account management processes
- Gather customer requirements, define and design scope of works, provide high-level network security architecture to support responses to RFI’s, RFQ’s and RFP’s
- Assist with technical business development in a customer facing, C-Level environment
- Conduct workshops and meetings to discuss and explain RFP’s, compare and contrast solutions, options and costings across multiple vendors
- Create Service Designs for custom Managed Services as part of the RFP process
The requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in network security, development, pre-sales engineering, or real world use of database and/or web application solutions; preferably with 3+ of these as a sales engineer and experience working in a vendor or solution provider
- Possess a solid understanding of web applications, database, security, and auditing environments
- Experience with Linux
- Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls
- Compliance standards knowledge (PCI, SOX, HIPAA) - an advantage
- Knowledge in databases -an advantage
- Knowledge in application development - an advantage
