This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a commercially astute sales manager to drive team performance and take full responsibility for the branch profitability.

This role is heavily sales focussed and will combine your ‘hands on’ management experience with your strategic and innovative leadership capability. Your strong sales management background coupled with your business development and influencing skills will be utilised to develop relationships with clients, customers, and internal and external stakeholders. You have a visionary leadership style and easily motivate, train and empower your people to succeed.

Branch functions include wholesale sales and distribution of tiles, carpet, flooring and accessories across NSW. You will lead a small team of account managers, BDM’s, a busy customer service centre and warehouse and distribution operation.

Reporting to the Director, you will drive sales growth and business development strategies, lead, inspire and motivate the team to achieve performance based top and bottom line goals and KPI’s. and staff retention.

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coaching a team of 7 account managers an BDM’s to reach growth targets via professional selling methodology
  • Driving significant business development activities to grow the customer base and revenue
  • Promoting a continuous improvement culture throughout the team
  • Reviewing processes to ensure operational and system excellence
  • Managing business performance and compliance

Our Preferred candidate should have:

  • A sound knowledge of professional selling methods including territory and customer analysis, Gap analysis and setting and reviewing KPI’s.
  • A substantial level of experience in the building materials industry (tiles and flooring is an advantage). Exposure to B2B sales and the specification market will be a distinct advantage.
  • The ability to interpret market indicators and formulate and implement meaningful strategic and operational business plans
  • A proven track record in successful external sales and internal customer service team coaching and leadership
  • A strong negotiator and innovative strategic thinker
