We import and distribute many leading products to Hardware, Paint, Electrical, Commercial, Industrial and Safety groups within Australia and New Zealand and have built strong and lasting relationships with leading retailers and buying groups.

The Hartman Group is a leader in innovation and product development that requires a self-motivated sales representative to join our growing sales team.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Maintain and grow an established sales territory in Brisbane and Northern regional areas.
  • Report weekly to the National Sales Manager.
  • Achieve monthly targets and sales budgets.
  • Visit customers according to a regular call cycle.
  • Assess all customer stock and merchandising requirements, stock orders, introduce new products and maintain customer relationships.
  • Merchandise and sell Hartman's full product range in stores.
  • Develop excellent customer relationships.
  • Attend Trade events and Trade shows.

Your expected skill set includes:

  • At least with 2-3 years' experience in an external Sales role preferably in the building & hardware industry.
  • Demonstrate success in achieving sales targets with a strong 'new business hunter' approach.
  • Have strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience  in managing major account customers, particularly achieving genuine sales development.
  • Intermediate computer skills using MS suit (Work, Excel, PowerPoint) Internet & Email.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with good time management skills.
  • Strong Relationship building skills.
  • Active and energetic with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Team player.

You will be responsible for Metropolitan areas & country regions and you will be required to spend a minimum of 3-5 nights a quarter away travelling.
