The Housing Industry Association is Australia’s peak residential building industry body. To support our membership growth, HIA is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated sales person to join our ACT/Southern NSW regional team.

This role will report through our Fyshwick office in Canberra but the duties of the role will require the successful applicant to grow and develop our membership business throughout the Canberra, South Coast, lower Southern Highlands, Snowies and Riverina regions.

The successful person will be required to canvas for new members using outbound telemarketing techniques and spend time on the road seeking growth and development of our membership and services. This role will also utilise solution selling techniques to maximise the value to HIA of new and existing relationships by selling HIA’s other products and services.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be skilled in negotiating and understanding the needs of customers in order to present the benefits of HIA’s various products and services
• Have demonstrated experience in meeting and exceeding sales targets
• Have excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Enjoy the challenge of telephone and face to face based selling
• Knowledge of the construction sector or experience with a member organisation
• Be willing to travel periodically outside of Canberra to other areas within the region
• Have a positive attitude and be looking to succeed in your professional sales career

An attractive salary package is offered including base salary, commission, mobile and company vehicle.
