Business Development Manager - Corporate, Education & Government

About the business and the role

Our client is one of Australia's largest distributors and manufacturers of professional audio, lighting and staging products. With an impressive portfolio of quality international and local brands they are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to identify and grow our opportunities in AV conferencing, huddle spaces and boardroom solutions in the Corporate, Education and Government ("CEG") sectors. 

Job tasks and responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager include (but are not limited to):

  • identifying, evaluating and acquiring new business and clients, whilst developing and implementing strategies to better service existing clients;
  • managing, tracking and recording activity, opportunities, contacts and details for the CEG market in the CRM system;
  • managing key CEG end users and influencers relationships by providing and/or coordinating value adding services, including but not limited to, design, proof of concept demonstrations and after-sales support; and,
  • being the primary point of contact with CEG product suppliers to ensure the Company is up to date with all technological, operational and commercial activities relevant to the Australian market. 

Skills and experience

To be considered for this position applicants must meet the essential criteria listed below.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Corporate, Education and Government sectors in Australia.
  • Broad and detailed knowledge of the products as they relate to AV conferencing, huddle spaces and the agile workspace.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as  business development manager
  • High level PC literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and communicate (in writing and verbally) with all levels of stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Current and valid Australian drivers licence.

It would be an advantage to possess one or more of the following desirable selection criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or related field etc.
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

Applicants should note intra/interstate travel will be required on a regular basis.
