We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development specialist to join our team.  Within this role you will be responsible delivering and evaluating a wide range of learning solutions for all EML business units and in line with the EML people strategy.


  • Design and develop learning solutions based on addressing capability gaps identified, using adult learning principles.
  • Deliver learning solutions using effective facilitation techniques to ensure maximum participation and achievement of optimum learning outcomes.
  • Present in a professional manner as a representative of the People & Culture team, role-modelling EML’s culture and values.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on course content and structure via the appropriate channels
  • Identify when individuals require one on one coaching and where required provide appropriate coaching
  • Include assessment methods to ensure and confirm learning. This may be through the training or for certain topics it may be determined a formal assessment is required to certify comprehension of subject material.
  • Engage and influence the business unit to ensure that the learning solution implemented is appropriate for the learning need.
  • Coach and support managers to assist them with development of their team members.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of adult learning solutions
  • Experience in Personal Injury Management and or knowledge of the SA Workers Compensation Scheme
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills and management of training courses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional skills in relationship development and management
  • Advanced influencing and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated internal consulting skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention the detail
