About the opportunity  

The HR Manager reports into the Chief Operating Officer (COO). You are the HR specialist within Compass and your expertise and efforts will drive our people in respect to engagement and their performance. You will work closely with the Compass Leadership team and at all levels of management. 

Your key accountabilities include:

  • Full spectrum Human Resource function covering Employee Relations, Wages, Training & Development, Award reviews, Compensation and Benefits & driving change management
  • You will identify, design, deliver and evaluate people programs and solutions to the employee base ensuring best practice.
  • Management of WH&S
  • Create, analyse and report on HR metrics
  • Maintain and develop Corporate Policy & Procedure.
  • Managing new job applications, creating job adverts and maintaining the management of job sites and careers page including social media.
  • Manage the new hire process from onboarding and training program development
  • Be responsible for creating an environment that engages employees, encourages retention and enhances the employees working day.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources role
  • Experience working with both office and field type personnel
  • Ability working in an environment where employees are on Awards, Contracts and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Experiencing working with all levels of management
  • Ability to focus on quality results within a timely manner
  • Experience managing or advising on staff engagement programs
  • Strong leadership, initiative management and analysis of HR reports
  • Ability to develop and drive HR Strategy including driving links between Strategic Plans and Organisation Mission, Vision and Values
  • Strong communication skills including report writing and presentation skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in a HR discipline or related field.
