Safety Project Officer

Facilitate and coordinate the implementation and program management of asset and procedural safety initiatives and projects for Customer Delivery, recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures within Customer Delivery.

Key Accountabilites

• Project manage the delivery of a number of asset and procedural safety improvement initiatives.
• Analyse gaps against safety standards. Identify improvements to close gaps (people capability, business process and/or assets). Plan and deliver improvements.
• Manage and/or coordinate work required for Customer Delivery-wide WHSMS projects
• Work with the business to develop a rolling program of safety-related process improvements, prioritised to give the greatest return

Selection Criteria

• Extensive experience in Project Management (**preferably in an asset-based industry) and demonstrated ability to facilitate / understand and prioritise complex requirements, manage risks and successfully influence
• Demonstrable background in integrating safety management system requirements to relevant business processes
• Working knowledge of lean six sigma methodology
• Working knowledge of project management methodology e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK
• Working knowledge of quality management systems (ISO9001), safety management systems (AS4801) and/or integrated management systems and implementation into a business
• Tertiary qualifications in business and/or quality management or related discipline and/or experience deemed equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to work with a wide range of senior stakeholders.
