Qube Logistics operates across 48 sites nationally, covering over 210 hectares of
land with 2 corporate administrative offices based in Melbourne and Sydney. Over
2,400 full time employees support these operations with qualified and experienced
staff across all services offered.
 
Working within a busy operational office, this role would suit a graduate or candidate with some experience who is ready to step up to a larger portfolio.This role is based at our West Melbourne offices and will commence as soon as possible.  

This role will be responsible for duties including;
  • Ensure the business units comply with group HSE standards and statutory obligations by ensuring that compliance audits are completed and action plans are developed and executed.
  • Mentor and coach site Supervisors, through regular site visits to ensure SHEMS is being implemented effectively on sites.
  • Collate reports that include incidents & safety statistics, recordable injuries, lead and lag indicators as required for corporate reporting.
  • Assist in conducting accident / incident investigation, using our preferred method of investigation (ICAM). Ensure that investigations are entered into the on-line incident management system and are monitored for completion.
  • Actively participate and assist in facilitating OHS committees and forums, by ensuring that all sites within your responsibility are completing meetings in accordance with Group Standards and the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Provide input to the State Safety Manager recommending and facilitating system improvements and initiatives to ensure legal and statutory compliance, by participating in management reviews of SHEMS system.
  • Review contractor Safety plans and submissions to ensure that the contracting companies comply with the Qube requirements. Complete audits of contracting companies to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Implementation of Qube safety strategies, ensuring that all sites are aware and implementing these strategies, by assisting in the development of site safety plans and monitoring there completion and effectiveness.
  • Plan and lead risk assessment process of operations, working environment, current work practices/procedures and develop plans to minimize risks.
  • Working closely with Qube State SHE Manager to ensure that corporate governance processes and protocols are being implemented within the business units.
  • Management of Qube’s environmental management system, ensuring that the Group’s standards and statutory obligations are being complied with and compliance audits are being undertaken.
  • Provide advice and support where required in regard to Vehicle access regimes, route planning and driver assessment process.
  • Manage return to work cases in conjunction with the State SHE Coordinator
  • Develop and review in conjunction with relevant site personnel and SME specific SWI/SWMS as required.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Identify, assess and report all known and identified hazards and incidents in the workplace implement effective risk controls utilizing the job safety Analysis process.
  • Participate in the monitoring, review and evaluation of implemented risk controls.
  • Stop the task where there is imminent risk beyond the acceptable tolerance of the guidelines in the risk evaluation matric and escalate to the operations Manager as per the escalation protocols.
  • Adhere to the requirements of the Safety Health & Environment Management System procedures and protocols at all times.
  • Identify and escalate opportunities for improvement.
Reporting directly to the SHE and Compliance Manager, this role is suitable for graduates or candidates with 1 or 2 years experience, preferably with the following;
  • Experience or knowledge within a transport and logistics environment preferred but not essential 
  • Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and Power point
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
  • Environmental qualifications would be of benefit
  • Training/Auditing Qualifications would be well regarded
