The Role

The purpose of this role is to improve our employee’s experience and to contribute positively to the competitive position of the company, through strategic actions to improve the capability of our teams and improve our agility to respond to change.In this role, you will support both our Geelong and Portland manufacturing operations with some travel to our corporate head office in Southbank, Melbourne.

As the HR Leader sitting on the site leadership teams, you will provide HR direction, coaching and guidance on all people matters not only with your leadership peers but with the respective dynamic workforces operating within a safety conscious & high-trust environment. Working within a matrix organisation you will directly report to the VP - HR who is based in Brisbane, enabling you to work autonomously, be a self-starter, be outcome driven and flexibility in your work patterns to apply best practice HR.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations or related field
  • Exceptional ability to work indepentently between dual site leadership teams and workforce activities
  • Strong training system capabilities with a natural flair for using data in people matters
  • Exceptional negotiating skills specifically within a unionized workforce and site activities
  • Highly developed leadership skills underpinned by collaboration, engagement and inclusion.
  • Demonstrable analytical and conceptual skills to enable the incumbent to develop options and strategies to address complex organisational issues, and to understand complex workforce issues.
  • Demonstrable consultation, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and negotiate with senior management and stakeholders on strategic business issues.
  • Ability to present confidently and effectively to groups, and to facilitate training sessions
