St Vincent’s Private Hospital is a world-class medical and surgical facility and provides overnight and day only care across a broad spectrum of specialties. The Hospital is currently midway through a major expansion and refurbishment program that will add new services and increase the bed base to 320 beds.

A great opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources Consultant to join St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney Human Resources team. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the purpose of the role is to:

  • Perform generalist life-cycle HR responsibilities - recruitment support, onboarding, managing employment contracts, supporting performance appraisal process, employee relations, industrial relations, remuneration reviews, HR reporting etc;
  • Advise management, and staff on Award and EBA provisions, conditions, HR policies and procedures and other HR matters;
  • Manage the investigation process and required disciplinary processes bringing a sound understanding of procedural fairness and commercial thinking;
  • Implement human resources strategies and initiatives, processes and procedures that drive workplace change and realise opportunities for growth and exhibits industry best practice.

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge of Employment Law in Australia, with the comfort and confidence in managing the end to end process of complex investigations and disciplinary discussions. You will have the ability to influence a range of personalities at all levels with a development and coaching approach motivated by helping managers build their capability, and identify the right people related solutions.

Your HR experience of effectively dealing with a range of business related challenges and initiating new ideas will put you in good company with an organisation fostering continuous improvement and driving change. Providing advice and counsel to managers is a critical aspect of this role, therefore your excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical, along with your ability to act with integrity.

The role will suit someone with tertiary qualifications in human resources or related field. In return, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that actively drives efficiency reviews and develops HR programs to support the Organisation’s performance.
