About the Opportunity

This role is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the Claims training strategy for the TAL claims teams (Group, Retail, and Direct)

A key focus of this role is to ensure that the ‘best in breed’ technical training is available and delivered across the TAL claims teams, in a consistently high quality manner, ensuring that the customer is at the centre of all we do.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the ongoing implementation of the TAL Claims Technical Learning strategy, with a focus on creating/curating a suite of training interventions, including drafting the case management approach to support the ongoing technical skill development of people within Claims

  • Working with internal Claims and other business stakeholders to ensure the technical training provided is relevant, accurate and aligned with the TAL overarching learning strategy

  • Designing and Facilitation of technical training for new and/or current TAL Claims team members and/or external parties, as required

  • Ongoing evaluation of Claims technical training to ensure programmes remain effective and relevant for the Claims teams and our customers.   

  • Development and ongoing implementation of an Accreditation framework, supporting the implementation of the TAL capability matrix across the TAL Claims Team

  • Maintaining current knowledge of life insurance guidelines, processes and policy changes.  Communicating these in a simple, accurate and engaging manner to Claims team members

  • Represent the training team on relevant claims related projects, as required and take responsibility for delivering against agreed objectives

  • Continuously reviewing Claims processes, capabilities, frameworks and training to seek out opportunities for improvement in the overall claims experience for customers

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Claims Assessing/Case Management role, specifically strategy and duration management within the Insurance industry

  • Demonstrated capability in both strategic and tactical thinking

  • A high level of competence in design and delivery of training programs (including: new starter onboarding, ongoing technical training for Claims staff, systems, processes, products, quality and compliance)

  • Demonstrated training project management capability

  • Strong internal consulting and stakeholder management skills

  • Agility and flexibility in thinking and approach

  • The ability to operate effectively in an environment of change

  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills

  • Ideally experience of designing or curating content to support the ongoing technical training needs of Claims staff

  • Capability framework and learning pathway design skills (desirable)

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
