The Role:

The TV Product Manager (TV-PM) will oversee the TV Products supply chain processes at a national level including but not limited to benchmarking, product evaluation, new product development, engineering, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, manufacturing, inspections and shipping.

The TV-PM is assigned to the CE-Au Sales group, and reports to the CE Head of Sales, and will ensure that all TV products perform to our clients’ expectation, having picture and sound that exceeds the benchmark and that the supply chain processes runs smoothly, within budget and meeting the deadlines.

Duties and responsibilities:

The job responsibilities include, but they are not limited to the following:

  • Market research: Provide feedback on competitors and technology changes, directions and trends, such as -
    1. Android VS Linux VS the Other (Panasonic, Samsung, LG WEB OS);
    2. Cabinet outlook/bezel/stand;
    3. Panel/Glass supply and technology changes (OLED, UHD VS FHD)
  • Provide roadmaps on TV technology and Cabinet design
  • New product development: Liaise with technology companies and manufacturers to maintain Tempo TV products as being at the leading edge of technology and above the market expectations.
  • Set minimum product performance requirements and specifications
  • Support the Tempo technical and engineering team when liaising with overseas factories to detect and fix issues during EV evaluation, FFU testing, mass production and inspections. Discussing directly with the factory when required.
  • Attend weekly meetings and provide updates on the status of the TVs.
  • Review and update Tempo’s global database with the ongoing status of each TV product.
  • Review all the supply chain process outcomes, quality, warranty and customer experience issues in a quest for constant improvement.
  • Review returns and ensure issues are addressed in repeat orders of same or similar products.

In addition to the above there will be associated duties assigned, and ad-hoc projects due the importation of certain products.

The TV Engineering/Product Manager (TV-PM) will drive this along with the following managers:

  1. CE Technical Manager (Au)
  2. Tempo engineering team in China.
  3. Global Procurement Manager (Au)
  4. Service and Call Centre Manager.
  5. Global Technical Manager

The role will require frequent travel to China based factories, which expense will be covered by Tempo

Who we are looking for:

  • Engineering degree qualified in Electrical/Electronics or similar
  • Strong communications skills. Must be a very influential person to both local and overseas people.
  • Minimum 5 years TV Industry experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge about the current directions in the TV market and technology companies and factories in China.
  • Logical thinker, being able to clearly plan and manage multiple projects and demands at the same time, and handle constant change.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of products, including high level Excel.
  • Full work rights in Australia, with a current passport
  • Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese as well as English will be very highly regarded
