In this role your primary focus will be on designing, developing, testing and implementing a custom software solution for SA Structural based on an existing management information system. Your ability to collaborate with all stakeholders in a fast paced environment is also highly sought after.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a solution based on gathered requirements
- Complete code reviews
- Fixing bugs and retesting
- Writing and implementing functional requirement documents, tests and guides
- Deploying updates to live environments
Main skills required:
- 2+ years' experience in .NET development
- Working knowledge of HTML5/CSS3/Bootstrap
- JavaScript/JQuery
- Experience with MySQL and database design
- Familiarity with Unix and the console
- Experience with GIT (or other source control)
- A good understanding of UX design, accessibility, web standards and coding best practices
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience building flexible & easy to maintain responsive websites (across desktop, tablet and mobile, and particularly across multiple browser types)
Additional skills that would be looked upon favourably:
- Familiarity with PHP and PHP frameworks such as Laravel
- Familiarity with integration solutions and Web Service APIs, such as XML, REST, JSON, SOAP
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks
- Great understanding of additional web components such as Cache, Proxies, and CDNs
- Web security experience, e.g. XSS, CSRF, session theft, SQL injection etc.
- Experience with mobile app development
- Experience with release management tools
- Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regards to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies
- Performance optimisation e.g. caching, JavaScript performance
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe CC
