RateMyAgent launched in 2014 and still consider ourselves a start up. Our Founders (Mark and Ed) are active in the day to day running of the business.

Ratemyagent.com.au is Australia’s No. 1 real estate agent ratings and statistics website. It provides recommendations, rankings and reviews for real estate agents in Australia. There are currently 50 employees, (with more set to join in the next six months), and we are surrounded by expert partners and advisors.

THE ROLE

Due to the continued growth and success of the organization, RateMyAgent have created an exciting opportunity for a talented QA Engineer to join a highly successful Melbourne Tech Startup.

Your main responsibility will be developing and executing test automation complemented with exploratory testing to ensure product quality in each production releases.

This role will suit someone who is not only passionate about testing products that customers will love, but someone who thrives on learning new stuff and seeing their ideas elaborated in collaborative agile teams.

Finally, as QA Engineer, you will be an ambassador of development best practices and drive the team's behaviour in embedding the quality in the development process itself.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the cross-functional team and ensure that sprint goals are achieved with quality and speed in mind.
• Test all aspects, functional and non-functional, of the product and user experience, using manual and automated techniques.
• Manage prioritisation of support requests and defects and help define standards to which you adhere, and can explain the processes to others. .
• Help monitor errors and product health and escalate concerns. Document and report on the health-related statistics of all aspects of the solution. Help find defects and areas to improve the solution.
• Can give clear verbal and written feedback, sharing ideas and concerns about quality, technology and process. Contribute your QA perspective throughout the story lifecycle, and teach others QA Process and Best Practice through formal and informal sessions.
• Stay up-to-date by following and contributing to QA and development communities. You define and achieve personal goals that are aligned with those of the department, and help create department goals that contribute to those of the business.
• Be an advocate for Agile processes and principles of continuous improvement.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience testing and automating Restful APIs
• Experience testing and automating Angular Websites (using protractor)
• Strong C# and/or Node.js/JavaScript programming skills
• Great communication skills. You listen to multiple points of view, give thoughtful and critical feedback and influence decision making
• Experience working in an Agile Team

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience in non-functional / performance testing to both front and back end
• Working with microservices and associated architecture
• Continuous Integration and Delivery
