Role:
Oxil Development Services is looking for a talented full stack JavaScript developer and systems architect to help drive the technical side of an exciting new project. The role is full-time and based in Melbourne CBD, responsible for planning and executing software development projects across existing and new cloud platforms.
We are looking for a passionate, skilled developer who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty with different technologies to support the software roadmap. You will work in conjunction with a like-minded innovative team in a casual environment and report directly to project founders. The opportunity to utilise desirable technologies such as AWS, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AngularJS. The role also welcomes new ideas and flavours, to help drive the innovation pipeline.
Must be able to clearly articulate their thoughts and ideas, be innovative and driven to create simple, elegant code.
Must be able to provide advice and expertise on the technical road map and ensure that all aspects of the product shipped to production are of the highest quality.
Must be highly motivated and passionate about continuous learning.
Core responsibilities:
- Developing new and maintaining existing software platforms
- Planning and execution of the software roadmap
- Designing cloud based architectures
- API Development and Integration
- Utilise coding best practices
- Coordinating with development teams
Skills:
Back-end/front-end web knowledge
- AWS, including but not limited to Elastic Container Services (ECS), EC2 instances, RDS instances, Route 53, AWS S3, IAM, Cloud Formation and overall AWS APIs.
- CentOS, Ubuntu and ability to maintain, troubleshooting Linux server matters such as SSL, load-balancing and reverse-proxying etc.
- Nginx and Apache, Have the ability to configure, troubleshooting and improve performance of each type of web-server.
- RESTful APIs, how to implement and design based on current architecture.
- Relational database (PostgreSQL preferred) and ability to make design decision on top of current architecture.
- NodeJS production environment, ExpressJS, backend Javascript including ES6, ES7 syntax.
- Frontend JavaScript, especially React/Redux/SSR/React-Router including ES6, ES7 syntax.
- CI/CD, CircleCI preferred.
- Knowledge of app development methodologies preferred.
Desirable knowledge
- 3PP API’s such as Sendgrid, Stripe, Google Analytics etc.
- Loopback API framework
- PHP and MySQL
- Have the ability to come up with good UI/UX
- High attention to detail
- Management skills
Ideal Experience
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in developing with cloud and JavaScript technologies and APIs
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or IT would be useful
