RSP Automotive and Industrial is one of the largest suppliers of automotive restoration parts in Australia and are seeking an experienced Pick D3/multi-valued programmer to fill a full time role.

 

RSP Automotive and Industrial (Rare Spares), prides itself as being one of the most trusted, respected and recognised names in both the Industrial and Automotive industries. Rare Spares is arguably the largest supplier of automotive restoration parts and accessories in Australia, and cater for an incredible range of both new and old vehicles.

Maintaining our status and staying at the forefront requires RSP to continuously innovate and streamline its processes to meet the business's evolving needs. To help us more readily adapt to these needs, we are seeking an experienced professional to enhance and maintain our Pick D3 ERP system.

 

What does the job entail?

At RSP, the majority of our business processes are handled through our in house Pick D3 system. Generally these processes relate to retail, warehousing and wholesale distribution. The successful candidates primarily role will be to work on a variety of development, conversion and maintenance projects related to this system. Predominately their duties will include:

  • Developing and Implementing new business functionality;
  • Debugging, Identifying and resolving pre-existing code issues;
  • Bulk manipulation of data;
  • Report writing;
  • Data cleansing;
  • Bug fixing;
  • Integrating with other systems.

As a successful candidate, you will contribute to projects by producing specifications for change that include conceptual designs, implementation plans, and sample working models. After which you will be responsible for translating these concepts to a variety of working technical solutions. In the process you will be afforded a degree of design flexibility, albeit within a collaborative working environment. Day to day you will be exposed to a diverse range projects and will seldom do the same thing twice.

As a key requirement of the position, you will be required to collaborate regularly with others. This will typically be in the form of collaborating as part of a team to provide functional solutions to problems, training staff in the systems use, and fielding a variety of one-on-one enquiries. Excellent communication, planning and interpersonal skills are a must.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the monitoring and upkeep of our Pick system, including any new or pre-existing code and will take appropriate steps to ensure business continuity.

It is expected that any applicant would have a thorough understanding of "Pick Basic" and MV file structures. Experience with GUI development tools, web technologies etc. will be well regarded.

 

What skills do you need?

  • 5+ years demonstrable experience developing multivalued systems such as Pick D3.
  • Expert knowledge of Pick Basic.
  • General business acumen.
  • Ability to develop streamlined UI's.
  • Ability to produce a project plan and deliver the desired outcomes.
  • Ability to interface MV systems to alternate systems.
  • Experience with maintaining a Pick based system and its underlying operating system.
  • An analytical mind with the ability to fault find and rectify software issues efficiently.
  • Ability to analyse a particular deficiency and devise a plan to resolve and implement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
