Manager, Data Quality

A Manager, Data Quality is required for a NSW Government Department based in Parramatta. The Manager, Data Quality will have overall responsibility for managing, creating, and maintaining technical quality assurance processes and procedures, as well as addressing current governance framework and its practicality.
  
Key accountabilities:

• Lead the development of the department’s data quality management approach, including strategy, policies, standards, metrics, tools and procedures required to implement across different data domains and business units
• Collaboratively design a data quality implementation plan for continuous improvement; address both prevention and remediation of poor data quality
• Monitor data quality metrics, identify and manage progress, risk and issues
• Build and maintain sustainable partnerships with relevant stakeholders to implement the data quality strategy
• Provide strategic, responsive, effective, accurate and timely advice to senior managers
• Report regularly on progress and achievements
• Identify and pursue areas for development for the development of data quality through issues management and information needs management
• Prepare and manage the accuracy, quality and timeliness of reports, briefings, submissions and correspondence
• Address data governance issues, create step-by-step processes to create solutions
• Communicate with internal stakeholders around data governance; relate information back to business issues.

Selection criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Previous project management experience
• Strong experience in Data Quality Assurance and Data Governance
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
• High-level negotiation skills
• Ability to work with large amounts of data sources, particular experience within complex organisations
• Government or banking experience preferable
