The scope of the role
To collaborate on the maintenance, extension, and innovation of a platform for the supply chain,
logistics, and transportation industries. To make insanely complex systems and algorithms appear
simple and elegant whilst being robust, scalable, and flexible.

• Deliver technical solutions for others to benefit from whilst focusing on security and quality.
• Help to simplify existing implementations and improve overall system usability and stability.
• Work with customers and product teams to continuously innovate and add to the existing systems and services.

Accountabilities

Deliver well-engineered solutions that you are proud of, which others enjoy using.

• Work with domain experts to become one.
• Convert that expertise into code, and services.
• Work to make applications, libraries, and services are a joy to inherit, maintain, and extend.

Create elegant solutions to extremely complex problems. These solutions need to make insanely
complex systems and services appear simple.

• Don't get bogged down in perfection or analysis paralysis. Identify the definition of quality and deliver to that.
• Make the complex "stuff' private and provide simple and elegant public interfaces to those complexities.
• Ensure everything is modular and reusable.

Build continuously deployable solutions and consistently adhere to chaos engineering principles.

• Be metrics driven.
• Automate tests.
• Code defensively.

Requirements

• Strong engineering skills and competency in one or more language. Ideally at least one scripting language and one compiled language.
• Comfortable working with .NET and MS SQL on Microsoft Azure
• A pragmatic and efficient approach to engineering.
• Proactively seek domain-specific knowledge and apply it to invent amazing solutions that make
• complex systems easy to interact with.
• Calm, flexible, diligent, and can think big and deliver to the grand visions that you help to define.
• You love to be criticized and you view failure as an opportunity, but you are annoyed enough by it to fail in different ways going forward.
• You are respectful when you critique others and are a respected mentor.
