The Director, IS Business Partner, Australia and New Zealand, is a trusted advisor to Stryker South Pacific (SSP) - Australia/NZ business in all areas pertaining to Information Services and technology to help the business achieve their strategic goals. This role will lead the local organizational accountability for information services (IS) at the SSP - Australia/NZ Commercial Business (division). The individual will develop and manage business partnerships with SSP - Australia/NZ leadership teams to formulate the IS strategy and architecture in alignment with the divisional business strategy and objectives. The individual will continue to drive key programs to achieve financial, operational and customer service goals. Key responsibilities include: Lead an engaged an effective team, build strong collaborative relationships with divisional leadership and teams; manage the division IS budget and guide the division in effectively investing in IS to meet strategic objectives; provide knowledge and expertise to department heads and process owners in identifying opportunities for technology and prioritizing initiatives; prepare, define, and monitor IS projects to address business needs; and, manage alignment of project deliverables with business requirements throughout the project and delivery life cycle.   Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Drive IS value creation and customer satisfaction for SSP - Australia/NZ business
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with divisional leadership and act as a liaison between IS and SSP - Australia/NZ Division
  • Ability to learn and understand business requirements, issues and processes quickly; develop and articulate a point of view
  • Be a strategic partner to SSP - Australia/NZ leadership team for Business Process Improvement and Organizational Change Management
  • Participate in the development of business and IS strategic plans
  • Lead collaborative efforts for business case development
  • Positively challenge and question business partners on needs and benefits
  • Work with Corporate Information Security Officer (or delegate) and be accountable for IT Security compliance for SSP
  • Charter and prioritize program and project initiatives in conjunction with division leadership, including ERP and global program change requests
  • Assist in the development of metrics used to track value delivery
  • Identify opportunities where conflicts/synergies/redundancies exist between business capabilities and systems to improve IS effectiveness
  • Lead Cost Management Efforts for the division
  • Reduction in interfaces, time to execution and system maintenance costs
  • Contribute to the budgeting process and lead and recommend Capital Expense Requests (CERs) for division IS projects
  • Liaise with other IS stakeholders in project management, architecture and governance to ensure alignment and ensure a smooth integration of process output with the rest of the IS environment
  • Lead business analysts, project managers and/or other IS resources in providing IS services and initiatives to the business
  • Accountable for geographic execution of site services (local site tech support, end-user touches, etc.), including Distribution Centers
  • Accountable for delivering adequate business intelligence reporting capability to support the business
  • Communicate on projects by issuing regular status updates and managing communication within team, IS organization and SSP - Australia/NZ leadership and stakeholders
  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for remediation of IT related audit findings for SSP - Australia/NZ. Work with colleagues and other stakeholders to enable timely resolution of remediation actions
  • Manage Performance reviews of IS team. Build and grow talent.
  • Perform other duties as directed

 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, analytical, change management and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and build successful relationships in global matrix organization
  • Awareness of current and future trends in the industry and competitors
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 12+ years of professional work experience in IT/IS and/or business discipline required
  • Knowledge (5+ years) of medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industry and basic knowledge of adjacent areas in terms of processes, organization, products and IS requirements
  • Project management experience, working with internal and external cross-divisional team members, preferably with IS projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both divisional leaders and technical teams
  • Strong people manager, with focus on positive leadership, empowerment and employee engagement
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Good business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple priorities
  • Prior experience working in a multinational / global environment is preferable
  • Demonstrated professional experience in IS and/or other related business discipline is required
  • Ability to understand systems, interrelationships and recommend enhancements, and building IS strategy
