The company

With continual expansion a need has arisen for a senior software engineer to join the business, based in Melbourne.

The role
Reporting into the Software Manager and sitting within the core leadership group, your responsibilities will include;

• Delivery of key software development on projects, programming embedded software systems that are in line with the project specifications.
• Developing junior software engineers knowledge and skills around embedded programming.
• Providing technical support throughout the project life cycle, debugging and troubleshooting programming issues when they arise.
• Improving documentation for training exercises to ensure legacy knowledge can be successfully transferred.
• Adhering to safety, quality and Australian standards around high risk product development.

Your background
In order to be successful in this role, you will be;

• Degree qualification in engineering, preference for software/computer science.
• Extensive embedded software development experience, working on electro-mechanical products.
• Strong experience in a senior developer role across embedded development with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Must be a hands on developer with strong problem solving abilities across electro-mechanical products.
• Must have extensive experience in C, C++ developing within a LINUX OS.
