THE ORGANISATION

Symbio Laboratories is a leading provider of commercial analytical testing with specialist microbiological and chemical testing services to the food, agricultural, water and environmental industries.  We operate laboratories in Melbourne, Sydney, Wagga Wagga and Rockhampton, with the head office and main reference laboratory being located in Brisbane.

THE ROLE

Due to continued growth and development of our business capabilities, we require qualified .NET Developers to join our IT team. The roles are based at our head office in the Brisbane Technology Park at Eight Mile Plains.

The key duties of the role are:

• Develop and maintain .NET desktop applications including .NET office add-in
• Develop data communication solutions between MS SQL Server and MS Excel, using OpenXML protocol or Interop Services.
• Develop software applications and communicate with external REST Services
• Maintain legacy Excel VBA code
• Maintain T-SQL queries
• Provide support to existing software applications
• Provide Rapid Application Development (RAD) in a fast changing business environment
• Communicate and prepare development documents
• Contribute to the quality culture of Symbio Laboratories

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

• Quick learning skills and problem solver
• Excellent knowledge in .NET and desktop application development
• Excellent knowledge in ORM, familiar with mainstream ORM tools
• Experience in Excel VBA and OpenXML
• Experience in ASP.NET Ajax and REST API
• Working knowledge in SQL Server and TSQL
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability of detailed development documentations
• Perform well under work demands

It is desirable that the candidate has:

• Previous experience working in a commercial laboratory environment
