Our client, a large complex hospital, is currently seeking to engage a Solution Architect for a national Digital Pregnancy Health Record program. This is for an initial 12+ month contract.

The federal government has allocated new funding to establish a national Digital Pregnancy Health Record, providing an alternative to the traditional paper-based ‘hand held’ record (referred to as the ‘blue-book’ in Queensland). This work represents a critical component to the overall goal of establishing a longitudinal child digital health record.

Building upon the previous work delivered by the Mater in regards to an electronic shared care antenatal record, the project will enhance the existing technical solution to further enable a shared care digital pregnancy record being accessible by pregnant women and their healthcare providers. The project will be delivered in partnership between Mater and Queensland Health.

This role is part of a team of technical representatives from Queensland Health, charged with the responsibility to design, develop and deploy solutions to meet the requirements of the Integrated Care Digital Program as articulated through the Business, Clinical and Consumer Reference Groups.

The Solution Architect will represent this hospital through the design, development and deployment process, and must be able to identify, develop and promote opportunities that support the requirements of both the Program.

Roles and responsibilities include;

1. Establish effective working relationships with the Programs’ project management, clinical, business, consumer and technical personnel
2. Clarify business requirements and identify solution opportunities leveraging existing infrastructure and capabilities
3. Ensure architectural solutions align with program principles, architectural visions and organisational strategies
4. Assist in the development of a robust, reusable and extensible solution foundation that supports both the initial and long-term requirements of the Program
5. Develop technical design documents including Solution Architecture Designs, Component Design Specifications, Interface Specifications and Test plans/scripts/reports
6. Develop technical design artefacts such as sequence diagrams, data layouts, component topologies and roadmaps
7. Development of engagement documents and work packages for solution design, development and deployment
8. Contribute to the development of functional and non-functional requirements and evaluation criteria to support the procurement of products and services
9. Contribute to the development of service level agreements and key performance indicators
10. Contribute to the development of high-level plans, product breakdown structures, cost estimates and project schedules
11. Facilitate approval/gateway processes, change control governance and transition to operations
12. Demonstrated experience in application architecture and design
13. Demonstrated healthcare experience
14. Provide status reports to executive

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience in leading the development of solution architectures and associated documentation
• Significant solution architecture and/or application design experience across diverse stakeholder groups.
