Infrastructure Engineer 
6 month full time fixed role – $85K package
  
  
This role will ensure the business is operationally effective in all of our key global locations is imperative for the success of the business. There is a need for an onsite infrastructure engineer to be based at our Melbourne office, to apply his or her knowledge to solve complex problems on site, help with global project work when required but predominantly working closely with the technology business partner to address any ongoing IT related issues.

  
Responsibilities and requirements:   

• Acts as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies.
• Responsible for delivering end to end infrastructure
• Responsible for operational improvements , working closely with the technology business partner
• The onsite infrastructure engineer is able to analyse information and identify problems into specific, workable components that in-turn clearly identifies the issues at hand. Makes logical conclusions, decisions, anticipates obstacles and considers different approaches that are relevant to the decision making process.
• Maintaining, installing and decommissioning systems hardware and components ensuring new systems being built are in accordance with OUP standards and operational requirements.
• Complete required documentation in line with departmental and ISO standards to enable systems to be supported, maintained and used effectively.
• Contribute high-level expertise to Global IT projects to ensure that new systems can be operated and maintained before they go live.
• Creates a plan to evolve the system to reduce cost and improve system dynamics.

 
Relevant IT and / or Professional Qualifications.

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in engineering enterprise infrastructure systems solutions
• Good understanding of Office 365/ Azure
• Proven application performance troubleshooting
• Good understanding of systems administration ( Windows/Linux)
• Experience in cloud based or hosting environment
• Good hands on virtualisation knowledge of VMware 5.x
• Knowledge of a wide range of storage technologies including NetApp, EMC, HP EVA, Cloud storage
• Up to date knowledge of the underlying architecture for infrastructure Technology Components
• Proven experience ,windows 10 desktop builds
• Understanding of the latest developments in the core technologies.
• ITIL / ISO Qualified
