One of our key Banking clients is currently implementing improvements to their earlier commitments to their 'customer first' promises.With a goal to becoming the leader in the ABA Better Banking Initiatives, we are seeking several professionals to complement this plan.

Our client is seeking a Senior Documaker SME/AWS Developer to join their team for a long term engagement, based in the CBD, this position has strong potential for career growth.

The Senior Documaker SME/AWS Developer resource will be required to:

• Contribute to the various Agile rituals (e.g. standup, card kick-offs, walkthroughs, and showcases).
• Develop a quality and maintainable Android or iOS code base which will be unit tested against acceptance criteria.
• Maintain a ‘green build light’ for the project’s continuous integration builds and react quickly to build failures.
• Liaise with the business and testers on technical design decisions.
• Complete story development as per prioritised Jira backlog.
• Be mindful of non-functional considerations such as security, performance and accessibility.
• Identify and extract code assets that can be used by other  projects.
• Select appropriate code libraries to be used in the project.
• Create and maintain documentation on code and design decisions.

Main duties/responsibilities / requirements:
Experience Level

• 5+ years’ experience in a Software Engineer role.
• Experience in corporate environment.
• Experience in at least two industries (eg Social media and Finance) the requirement is to have experienced more than one set of different business needs and culture.
   
  Technical Skills
  
• 5+ years’ experience in a Software Engineer role.
• Strong coding (Java and/or Javascript) and testing skills, and an excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.
• Previous exposure to agile environments and delivery practices.
• Experience with cloud native services and capabilities is preferable but not essential (Azure, Google Cloud) as well as our Core AWS Technologies (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Cloud Watch).
• Strong background in API and Integration development.
• Experience supporting a production service in an environment that supports the principles of DevOps.
• Previous experience within a Production Support Team, resolving complex issues/problems through the use of superior communication and problem-solving skills (“build it, run it”).
• Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.
• Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
• Experience with micro services architecture is desirable.
• Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
