My Skills Background
The user researcher will be tasked with undertaking research on consumers to determine what types of information users consider when making decisions on their training options. This includes determining the information needs based on demographics and the backgrounds of the user and also how the information needs to be disseminated. 

Services required

A leading Department is developing the dashboard for My Skills. We require a User Researcher that will have the flexibility to work alongside the current product/project management and delivery resources, and will contribute to the goals of the team, as set out below.

User Researcher

The User Researcher will consult with key stakeholders and My Skills users to develop an understanding of My Skills users; who they are; how they use My Skills; and identify their specific needs.

Deliverables/Artefacts:

• Identify and refine My Skills users to be consulted under the review, including the appropriate level and a number of participants.
• Develop a plan and execute user research on the identified users, in conjunction with the team: observe user interactions with My Skills.
• Prepare and provide user personas, user journey maps and other user insights to the project team, including recommendations on required changes.

 
The User Researcher will be expected to ensure their deliverables align with the Digital Transformation Agency’s Digital Service Standard

Methodology
The User Research and UX/Service Designer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
