The opportunity

A Business Analyst opportunity is now available to work for the Toll Group in one of our next-generation fulfilment centres that was purposely designed and built to service a growing online retail market. The facility utilises the latest in automated technologies in order to drive fast, efficient and cost-effective order fulfilment to help retailers adapt to the changing needs of their customers. The Prestons Retail fulfilment Centre houses a world class automated system for product storage, order fulfilment, packing and despatch, serving the retail industries. The system incorporates various components including:

  • Shuttles, conveyors, elevators and automated guided vehicles for product movements
  • Automated and semi-automated packing equipment
  • A dedicated automation control system
  • Operational management systems, dashboards and operator interfaces
  • Information server, statistical reporting and ad-hoc system interrogation and reporting tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Experience in handling large sets of data in different format (MS Excel, MS Access)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Defining data capture, documentation and analysis of raw data & data validation
  • Comparison of current business trends to business initiatives
  • Analysing data to identify labour efficiencies, costs and KPI's
  • Analysing and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively seek, support and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Systems savvy with the ability to interpret and analyse data to produce reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Good working knowledge of Warehouse Management System. It is expected the candidate will have the capability quickly master and become a super user of the in-house systems (eg. accessing and extracting data)
  • Microsoft Office skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • PL/SQL,SSRS, Crystal report knowledge and experience is preferable
  • A high level of thoroughness and attention to detail with an analytical approach to problem solving
  • Keen to learn new technology and can work without supervision

To be considered for this role:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience working within a fast paced environment
  • Personally committed to continuous improvement, learning, adapting and growing for positive results
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operational processes
  • Knowledge and full appreciation of safety rules, practices and procedures
  • Understanding of 5S and Continuous Improvement concepts
  • The ability to solve problems and execute effective decisions
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • The ability to deliver training in procedures and operation of equipment and systems
