How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

As a senior member of the Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) team, you will be working closely with the ICT Manager and across ICT teams to develop and implement a comprehensive cyber security program for the City Of Melbourne. As the Senior Information Security Analyst, you will lead the selection and deployment of technical controls to meet specific security requirements, and defines processes and standards to ensure that security configurations are maintained at all times.

You will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to the day-to-day administration of information security tools and devices, as well as first-level and second-level support for security information and event management (SIEM), and includes significant responsibilities for the security administration of a wide variety of IT systems across the Council.

To be successful in this role, you will pride yourself on being a highly organised and knowledgeable person that is known as the go-to person to the various stakeholders you will interact with within City Of Melbourne. You will have a passion and interest for information security and naturally be a think outside the box person who is motivated to find and improve solutions.

• Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and/or industry qualifications such as CISSP, CISM Certifications
• Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management
• Technical proficiency with security-related systems and applications, especially:
• Enterprise Firewalls & IDS/IPS
• Email & Web Content Filtering
• Multifactor Authentication
• Identity & Access Management / Federated Services / Active Directory
• Networking and VPN solutions
• DNS, NTP, FTP & Logging, Auditing & Monitoring
• Microsoft Windows Server, VMware
• Security Information & Event Management systems
• Knowledge of IT systems, especially:
• Configuring and securing cloud based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions/services within AWS & Microsoft Azure
• Configuration and support of Microsoft Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings such as Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online
• network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and associated network protocols and concepts
• Windows Desktop Technologies
• Windows Active Directory and Group Policy
• Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security procedures
• Knowledge and experience in the application of security standards and controls eg. ASD Information Security Manual, ISO 27001, NIST.
