Our government client requires an experienced Director to join a large dynamic team.

The Director, ICT Service Operations will lead and develop a small geographically diverse team to deliver across the Department:

• End to end service delivery and engagement for ICT ‘business as usual’ services from service planning through to incident response;
• Manage ICT Security services;
• Deliver ICT service through the ICT Shared Services model;
• Develop and nurture robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
• Manage operational and performance reporting and monitoring for ICT Services
• Manage and coordinate business and technical change management activities;
• Manage and coordinate a team of managers to manage day-to-day operational aspects of a the ICT systems;
• Create and execute work plans and timelines and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
• Manage internal and external communication including ensuring the timeliness and quality of status reports and documentation and the engagement of relevant stakeholders;
• Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion; and
• Support continuous improvement in ICT Management.

The successful candidate needs to acquire a deep understanding of the Department's business structures and delivery model to maintain, and continuously improve ICT service management across the department. To succeed in the role, the successful candidate will have proven experience in:

• Management and leadership of technical teams across multiple geographic locations;
• Have prior experience of leading teams to deliver ICT services through a formal ICT management framework such as ITIL;
• Developing junior staff in generating practical solutions to problems based on an understanding of the broader context of issues;
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to meeting agreed work targets and standards;
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills, in order to liaise with internal staff and customers to investigate problems; and
• Experience in delivering ICT Service Management across a complex and geographically diverse organisation.
