St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) is the nation’s largest not-for-profit Catholic health and aged care provider. Initially established in 1855 by the Sisters of Charity, SVHA is a clinical, research and education leader and operator of private hospitals, public hospitals and aged care services.


We are looking for a Network Administrator to join the Network team to participate in the management and maintenance the IT Network, Compute and Storage infrastructure, to optimise availability and reliability. It includes participation in, and oversight of the daily administration of the organisation’s server and storage infrastructure.

This position will contribute to the design, planning, implementation, maintenance and architecture of the IT network including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and network security.

Other key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Actively participate in risk assessment practices including vulnerability identification and prioritization and adherence to patch management framework;
  • Actively participate in after-business hours roster applying firmware patches, network changes, and network support;
  • Provide advanced technical support managing Data Centre and network environment, working with end users and IT System Engineers from other teams;
  • Responsible for daily, routine tasks to ensure systems are available 24 x 7 x 365;
  • Actively monitoring and managing the operations and service levels of the IT Network, Infrastructure and network according to clinical and business priorities;
  • To actively respond, manage and resolve 3rd level Service Desk incidents/service requests and enquiries;
  • To actively implement and further develop IT service and support according to industry/best practice standards.


The successful candidate will gain experience supporting large complex Health Network at 50+ sites across multiple states. It is desirable that they have working knowledge Cisco Firepower Firewalls, Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Routing, Cisco Switching (Catalyst, Nexus), Cisco Wireless including ISE Cisco UCS, Cisco HyperFlex, and VMware. This is in addition to general PC hardware and peripherals knowledge and skills.


Please note that this role will be required for after hours on-call support.
