Recent growth within YLPG has provided us with the opportunity to bring on an experienced WordPress/Web Developer to join our friendly and dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive and progressive agile environment.  

THE ROLE

YLPG are currently on the lookout for a versatile Web Developer to join its in-house marketing team. Senior to you will be the Marketing & Communications Manager, whom you'll be required to report to on a regular basis. The selected individual is to take charge of developing websites, landing pages and web maintenance for a numerous number of upcoming and existing brands. This will be specific to taking on the responsibility of the transition from the design phase to full launch. Most projects are to be orientated around developing, updating or maintaining websites, as well as the opportunity to work in additional projects with our IT department in the near future.

ESSENTIALS & SELECTION CRITERIA

The Web Developer role is for someone who understands how to build websites and is ready to expand their skills and knowledge within website development. The focus is to produce high quality, working and tested code, which not only keeps everyone happy and productive, but also helps the business to succeed.

- Experience with WORDPRESS Development
( may including developing custom modules from scratch, developing & customising plug-ins and themes. )

- Knowledgable in web hosting management / FTP, SSH, (AWS a plus) 

- You have skills in PHP, HTML, CSS, Woo-Commerce etc.

- Can convert PSD to Web (A plus but not required).

- Experience with Adobe Photoshop  (A plus but not required).

- Understands and builds Mobile Responsive Pages

- Adequate knowledge of testing websites across multiple browsers for a uniform experience for user across multiple platforms and browsers

- A highly motivated self-starter and active communicator

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to think logically.

- Initiative / Self driven 

- Most importantly KEEN to learn new things. 

IMPORTANT BUT NOT ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Knowledge and Competence with SEO: Implementing SEO changes for Websites.

- Able to set up a new installation of WordPress on a server, and migrate sites across servers.

- Experience creating HTML email templates. 

- Experience working with Mail Chimp.

- Knowledge in general IT tasks such as Hardware setup and Local Area Network (LAN) configuration
