A position is available for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional IT Support Technician. The role is to provide onsite desk-side, remote and helpdesk support services.

Our client is a global company recognised as a leader in the retail industry. This role is to provide quality tier 2 technical support to their users.

Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Providing excellent IT support to end-users via email, over phone and face to face.
  • Escalation of high risk incidents as appropriate via business support
  • Being the focal point of contact for all IT related issues
  • Provide instruction and basic training to employees
  • Ensure that IP phone network is maintained and fully functioning
  • Accurate and complete documentation of processes
  • Plan and co-ordinate the acquisition of new PC’s, mobile phones and other required hardware.
  • Setting up printers, faxes, scanners, smartphones, PC's and laptops
  • Software and hardware installations, troubleshooting, configuration and migration

Profile

The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or similar is required
  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows 7, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and group policy environments and technologies
  • Good technical support skills in Windows 7
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills are essential
  • Experience or qualifications in IT support roles, with 3-5 years support experience preferred
  • Experience supporting Microsoft desktop operating systems in an Active Directory environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work proactively and independently
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills with proven troubleshooting abilities
  • Present a professional appearance and attitude while providing our clients an excellent customer service experience
  • Attention to detail and be passionate about providing our clients an outstanding customer service experience
  • A good understanding of client facing devices (desktop and laptop etc.) and knowledge of Antivirus, Citrix, VPN, TCP/IP and LAN/WAN environments
  • Experience in working within/with a service desk in an operational support environment
  • Experience in resolving issues and the ability to provide training over the phone.
