The eMR Unit exists within the Directorate of Clinical Integration within our client 's department. The Unit provides expert knowledge and support to users of clinical applications including Patient Management, Scheduling, Profile PowerChart, Clinical Documentation, FirstNet, SurgiNet, Electronic Medication Management (eMM), Oncology, and PathNet.  
 
The eMR Application Manager – Clinical is a key member of the eMR Unit. The position will assist with the progressive integration and development of the Network eMR, focussed on Clinical Application solutions
 
The key responsibilities of the eMR Clinical Applications team includes but not limited to:
  • Provide expert knowledge and support to stakeholders of eMR Clinical Application solutions
  • Development of the Clinical Application solutions
  • Ongoing level 2 support management and maintenance of  our Client's Clinical Application solutions
  • Enhancements, upgrade, optimisation and development of eMR Clinical Application solutions
  • Clinical Application testing
 
Whilst this role is Monday to Friday, during downtimes or upgrades some afterhours or weekend support may be required which occur several times per year.
 
This position can be based either at Westmead or Randwick campuses, however there is a requirement to work from the alternate campus and other Client's  facilities from time to time
  • Work both independently, and in collaboration with, other eMR Unit team members to ensure the effective management, second level support and cross-skilling of the eMR as a whole
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the Clinical Application system functions and database content of the eMR and make complex judgements and take initiative in the day to day management of Clinical Applications
  • Assist in the design and build of components and functionality relating to Clinical Applications
  • Assist in the planning and management of testing Clinical Application related aspects of the eMR and the relationship it has to other clinical systems as required
  • Review and make complex judgements about standard practices and procedures related to Clinical Applications and in some circumstances approve eMR development to support changes that arise
  • Monitor flashes, review software defects/enhancements and identify the need for content packages related to Clinical Applications from Cerner, liaise with the System Managers to arrange installation and conduct or manage appropriate testing
  • Create and maintain all system management and maintenance documentation related to Clinical Applications
  • In conjunction with the Business Unit Managers, assist in managing the review of current business processes affected by Clinical Application system functions to enable the monitoring of staff performance and adoption of practice changes implemented to support staff appraisals
  1. Deliver communication to the right people across multiple services and manage resistance to change both within the eMR Unit and the end user community
  2. Demonstrate resilience and persistence in balancing competing demands in a complex, high work volume environment that encompasses the delivery of strategic and operational outcomes
  3. Maintain and improve services in response to unplanned internal and external changes whilst providing  innovative service delivery through development of the eMR

Qualifications:
  1. A degree in Health Information Management, Information Technology, Nursing, Allied Health, Medical or Applied Science or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience
  2. Detailed knowledge and experience with key clinical processes including their relationship to other patient administration and medical record workflows within the Australian public hospital setting
  3. Demonstrated experience in development and management of Cerner clinical applications
  4. Demonstrated experience in providing Cerner application support and an understanding of application support methodologies including the development of documentation, policies and procedures, test scripts and scenarios
  5. Demonstrated ability to analyse, troubleshoot, solve problems, establish priorities effectively and liaison with internal and external parties to resolve issues
  6. Demonstrated experience in working with internal and external stakeholders to determine, design, configure, test and implement Clinical Application solutions
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to engage effectively with administration, clinical and information management staff and to resolve conflict when required
  8. Demonstrated ability to work as an individual as well as harmoniously within a team, sharing information and responsibilities
