The Role

Overdose Digital is seeking ecommerce Website Developer to join our growing development team in Melbourne. 

Overdose Digital are commerce experts. The Melbourne office has a strong focus on Shopify & Shopify Plus focus, so previous experience will be an advantage but not essential if you can demonstrate that you are a quick learner.

The business:

Founded in 2016, and based in Auckland, we have grown from 2 consultants to a team of ~70+ and continuing to grow, with additional offices in Melbourne, Kiev & Singapore. Our services cover the entire lifecycle of Digital Commerce; from Business Design, Brand, Creative & UX, through to Managed Execution, Platform Architecture, Social Strategy, Search, Insights, and Marketing Automation.

We take a firm "no BS" approach to business, and brand ourselves anti-agency. We pride ourselves on delivering fit-for-purpose solutions, with positive ROI for our clients, and a belief structure based on creating mutual value. We refer to ourselves as "digital business accelerators", and operate primarily as partners, rather than suppliers.

We are currently working with premier clients the likes of World Vision, Sleepyhead, Merchant, Ziera, Ezibuy, Superette, Rivers, Nobody Denim to name a few.

Skills and experience:

Hustle, ambition & attitude is everything at Overdose, while this role is open to people with diverse experience we would expect a minimum of 2 yr solid development credentials. The role will cover the following technical criteria:

• Be an excellent communicator who loves dealing with both our internal team and external stakeholders (most notably our wonderful clients).

• Have hands on experience with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and APIs.

• Know all about working on sites with ecommerce functionality and their security requirements.

• Ensure all of our sites meet best practice SEO, social media integration and Google optimisation requirements by working with internally specialist teams

• Be able to engage in our projects from scoping right through to completion.

• Manage their time impeccably and be able to help us provide realistic timeframes and deadlines to clients.

• Have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.

• Be able to manage websites across a variety of hosting set-ups.

• Be able to work with our project management tools such as Google Docs, Trello, Slack and email.

• Be experienced at working with Sketch, Adobe Photoshop or similar.
