About the business and the role
GRC Solutions is one of Australia's leading governance, risk and compliance service providers and is distinguished by the depth and scope of our products and services. Due to growth, our organisation is looking to appoint a Senior .NET Developer in our Sydney office.
This role is responsible for building software using languages and technologies of the .NET framework. You will work to create enhancements to our eLearning application.
In this role, you should be able to write functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects. You should be a team player and excellent communicator with strong written and spoken English. If you are passionate about the .NET Framework and software design/architecture, we'd like to meet you.
Your goal will be to work with our small team to design, develop and maintain software and support our clients through enhancements to front end and reporting capability.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements analysis
- Collaborate with internal team members to produce software and design architecture
- Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages
- Test and deploy applications and systems
- Revise, update, refactor and debug code
- Improve existing software code efficiencies
- Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support
- Project manage all system updates
- Manage product bug lists
- Ensure Salt sites maintain a high % uptime
Skills and experience
Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and Microsoft certifications
- 5+ years experience as a .NET Developer
- Experience with VisualStudio 2008
- Familiarity with the ASP.NET, MVC framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns.
- Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .Net) and HTML5/CSS3
- Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies
- An understanding of the SCORM standard will assist
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
