The Software Engineer will join a fun and dynamic team supporting a large-scale, mission critical enterprise capability. They will work closely with team members, key stakeholders from multiple organisations, as well as technical architects, solutions architects and security specialists to solve problems and .
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining software modules with a focus on security mechanisms, and integrating the software into the core mission system.
Business as usual tasks undertaken will include troubleshooting and resolution of software issues, systems maintenance and customer engagement.
- Must hold an active or inactive TSPV clearance (Any Agency)
- 12 or 24 month Contract on offer
- Part Time Arrangements considered
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in developing enterprise applications and web services in Java
- Ability to work in a mixed APS/Military and contractor environment.
- Experience and knowledge of PKI infrastructure (Certificate Authority Applications, Directory Services LDAP).
- Demonstrated experience using scripting languages such as Perl (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in MS-Windows AND Unix-based administration
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop new software, system enhancements and bug fixes in Java EE.
- Support the upgrade and maintenance of the mission system production, QA and development environments, including the integration, configuration, administration of services and servers.
- Design, implement and test software upgrades throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Monitor and maintain systems performance and stability (Windows & LINUX). Maintain patching and deploy critical fixes quickly and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain documentation on software processes, Standard Operating Procedures, and System Security Plans.
- Support and coordinate security implementation, including incident response and remediation, and evaluation and accreditation activities.
